About The Book

The Diaper-Free Baby is aimed at parents like you who are interested in EC but are wondering how to incorporate it into a modern lifestyle. It encourages parents to follow EC to the extent that is right for themselves and their families, and is full of strategies for making EC easier to practice in our busy society. The book includes inspiring testimonials from many parents and families who have practiced EC in a variety of ways – for instance, with twins, with older children, while on the go, while traveling, at nighttime, while EC’ing or conventionally training an older sibling, or while baby is in daycare.

The Diaper-Free Baby provides strategies for parents practicing EC full-time, part-time, or occasionally. For some parents, this means they’ll practice EC once a day or less, just at times when the diaper would be off anyway like during a diaper change. (Lots of parents practice EC just for bowel movements and feel happy to liberate their children – and themselves! - from dirty diapers). Other parents may find themselves getting increasingly in tune with their child, until they gradually find themselves practicing EC more often and one day realize they are hardly using any diapers anymore. It’s important to know that there is a variety of experiences out there that qualify as EC.

In addition to practical strategies and parent anecdotes, you’ll learn how to read your baby, what to expect at each developmental stage, and how to get past bumps in the road. You’ll read why EC resonates with so many families out there. Most of all you will feel inspired by the way you are learning to be responsive to your baby.
